pdm_sai_interrupt#

Overview#

The pdm sai interrupt example shows how to use pdm driver with interrupt:

In this example, pdm gather audio data, and sai send it to codec.

Supported Boards#

EVK9-MIMX8ULP
Hardware requirements
  • Micro USB cable

  • MIMX8ULP-EVK/EVK9 board

  • J-Link Debug Probe

  • 5V power supply

  • Personal Computer

  • Microphone

Board settings

populate J20, J21 Connect microphone module to EVK board: 3V->J20-8 GND->J20-7 CLK->J21-4 DATA->J21-3

Please note this application can’t support running with Linux BSP!

Prepare the Demo
  1. Connect 5V power supply and JLink Plus to the board, switch SW10 to power on the board

  2. Connect a micro USB cable between the host PC and the J17 USB port on the target board.

  3. Open a serial terminal with the following settings:

    • 115200 baud rate

    • 8 data bits

    • No parity

    • One stop bit

    • No flow control

  4. Download the program to the target board.

  5. Launch the debugger in your IDE to begin running the demo.

Running the demo

When the demo runs successfully, you can hear the sound gathered from microphone and the log would be seen on the OpenSDA terminal like:

  • 12V~20V power supply

Board settings

Set SW9[3]=0.

Please note this application can’t support running with Linux BSP!
Prepare the Demo
  1. Connect 12V~20V power supply and JLink Plus to the board, switch SW4 to power on the board

  2. Connect a micro USB cable between the host PC and the J31 USB port on the target board.

  3. Open a serial terminal with the following settings:

    • 115200 baud rate

    • 8 data bits

    • No parity

    • One stop bit

    • No flow control

  4. Download the program to the target board.

  5. Launch the debugger in your IDE to begin running the demo.

Running the demo

When the demo runs successfully, you can hear the sound gathered from microphone and the log would be seen on the OpenSDA terminal like:

  1. Connect a USB cable between the host PC and the OpenSDA USB port on the target board.

  2. Open a serial terminal with the following settings:

    • 115200 baud rate

    • 8 data bits

    • No parity

    • One stop bit

    • No flow control

  3. Download the program to the target board.

  4. Either press the reset button on your board or launch the debugger in your IDE to begin running the demo.

Running the demo

When the demo runs successfully, you can hear the sound from microphone(U40, U41) and the log would be seen on the OpenSDA terminal like:

Connect microphone to EVK board: 3V->J1003-1 GND->J1003-6 CLK->J1003-40 DATA->J1003-38 Connect headphone to J401

Please note this application can’t support running with Linux BSP!

Connect microphone module to EVK board: 3V->J1003-1 GND->J1003-6 CLK->J1003-40 DATA->J1003-38 Connect headphone to J401

Note! There are two microphones on module, please put the sound source in the middle of microphones for balance.

Please note this application can’t support running with Linux BSP!

  4. Insert the headphones into the headphone jack on MIMXRT1180-EVK board (J101).

  5. Either press the reset button on your board or launch the debugger in your IDE to begin running the demo.

  2. Open a serial terminal with the following settings:

    • 115200 baud rate

  3. Download the program to the target board.
