Overview#

nor flash demo shows the use of nor flash component to erase, program, and read an external nor flash device.

Supported Boards#

FRDM-MCXW71
Hardware requirements
  • Type-C USB cable

  • FRDM-MCXW71 Board

  • Personal Computer

Board settings
Prepare the Demo
  1. Connect a USB cable between the host PC and the FRDM board J10.

  2. Open a serial terminal with the following settings:

    • 115200 baud rate

    • 8 data bits

    • No parity

    • One stop bit

    • No flow control

  3. Download the program to the target board.

  4. Either press the reset button on your board or launch the debugger in your IDE to begin running the demo.

Note: To make the external NOR flash run under the maximum 24MHz, please update the value of the macro “BOARD_LPSPI_NOR_BAUDRATE” from 4000000U to 24000000U in the board.h.

Running the demo

    • 115200 baud rate

    • One stop bit

  3. Download the program to the target board.

  2. Open a serial terminal with the following settings:

    • 115200 baud rate

    • 8 data bits

    • No parity

    • One stop bit

    • No flow control

  3. Download the program to the target board.

  4. Either press the reset button on your board or launch the debugger in your IDE to begin running the demo.

  • U30 and U12C affects the LPSPI1_SIN signal, causing it to remain at a low level. Note: Short JP6 to disable U30 before running this example.
